My debitcard/keycard has expired & until I can get back to Australia to replace it next month, I will have to withdraw cash from my Commonwealth MasterCard.

How can I do this in PP? I don't recall getting a PIN number for the MasterCard.

Is there somewhere I can go & sign a piece of paper to withdraw cash (just as I do to buy air tickets & whatever)?

Thanks!

ANZ, Acleda and any other retail bank will do it. Check for fees and exchange rate. It will not be cheap. You will be hit both ways for foreign exchange fees will cost at least 5% with exchange rate and fees. My suggestion is to take a large amount of cash out so you minimise the number of times you do it. At least you reduce the fees then. Then you minimise the fees at least. Put the card into credit beforehand so you don't pay interest from day 1.

On a positive side the exchange rate is usually pretty good.

Thanks a real lot for that. I think I'll go for ACLEDA (have to open an account there anyway).

My only question now is: where are they?

Google tells me that they have 176 branches, but not where any of them are.

I live near Olympic Market, and work near the Mao Tse Tung/Kampuchea Krom corner. I also work (second job) in Norodom, down the end near-ish to the Central Market.

Thanks again.

John

UCB on 130 a couple of blocks from the river.
No fees on this end, and also no limit on the ammount you withdraw.

i just don't understand why there's no HSBC bank here. With all the many other relatively unknown banks located every other step of the way in Phnom Penh, it borders on ridiculous that there's no big bank presence.

Standard Chartered Bank was here and closed up a few years back. HSBC I guess will eventually set up here
