It all starts tomorrow. The search for the best young footballing talent aged 13 and under in the country begins in earnest at 8am tomorrow morning at the Olympic Stadium. Phnom Penh Crown's desire to fill the 22 places in their Elite Football Academy that will begin in November, with the cream of the country's most talented youngsters, will take the club's coaches on a nationwide hunt throughout the month of October as they crisscross the provinces as follows:

4th Phnom Penh; 5th Kompong Chhnang; 10th Pursat and Battambang; 12th Banteay Meanchey; 14th Kompong Cham; 15th Kompong Thom; 16th Siem Reap; 18th Kratie; 19th Stung Treng; 21st Prey Veng; 22nd Svay Rieng; 24th Kandal; 25th Takeo; 27th Kampot/Kep; 28th Sihanoukville; 29th Koh Kong.

The best players that are unearthed will be invited to Phnom Penh for final trials in early November and from those, 22 young boys will be given the opportunity of a lifetime to turn their dream of becoming a professional footballer into a reality, as part of PPCFC's residential football academy.

Nothing like this has been attempted before in Cambodia, this is new ground that PPCFC are breaking and judging by the professional approach they are adopting, it will serve as a model for this kind of development of grassroots football in the kingdom.

mmmmm

well actually you are both right. women should be scientists. and they should seek answers.

as for the football, the schedule of trials was based on when we could get co-operation from the district authorities in the specific locations. we can't just turn up and have a trial, we need to get the right boys there on a specific day. the trials have gone swimmingly well (to introduce another sport into the equation), the boys have shown a real desire to do their utmost to follow their dreams of becoming a pro football player.

the best of them will be invited to phnom penh for the final trial in early November and the best 22 will be selected to join phnom penh crown fc on a full-time basis for the next 2 years. exciting stuff for all concerned.

food for thought there,

food for thought there, Taylor! Females... always looking for a reason why. We should all be scientists really.

maybe not, but perhaps it is

maybe not, but perhaps it is because you are female that a) you noticed, and b) you're looking for a reason why.

Perhaps it has something to do with where the coach's family members have houses, explaining the longer gap between some towns.
Perhaps the coach is a mathematician, and this is a sequence of some kind.
Or is it where the coach has girlfriends ?

Then again maybe it's something to do with traveling distance.

is it because I'm female that

is it because I'm female that I don't understand the jumping numbers? ....

4th Phnom Penh; 5th Kompong Chhnang; 10th Pursat and Battambang; 12th Banteay Meanchey; 14th Kompong Cham; 15th Kompong Thom; 16th Siem Reap; 18th Kratie; 19th Stung Treng; 21st Prey Veng; 22nd Svay Rieng; 24th Kandal; 25th Takeo; 27th Kampot/Kep; 28th Sihanoukville; 29th Koh Kong.
