The Lowdown:
Founded in May 2011, Dub Addiction are Cambodia’s first ragamuffin dub soundsystem, a blend of low down and dirty sub-bass lines, spacey delays and a fusion of classic Reggae Dub riddims with Cambodian vocals sung by MC Curly and Dj Kla Responsible for the typical Dub remix sounds is Professor Kinski aka Jan Mueller, a German music producer who has been working with MC Curly for 5 years on his own Khmer Hip Hop music.

The second Cambodia International Film Festival will take place from the 14th to the 18th of December, with a plethora of short, feature length and documentary films from Asia, Africa and Europe and North America, as well as a range of workshops and events.

The event, organized by the Bophana Audiovisual Resource Centre (www.bophaba.org) will this year include screenings at Legend Cinema and Cineplex, as well as the French Cultural Centre, the Bophana Centre and outdoor screenings on Diamond Island (Koh Pich).

And he will be using a rather unusual mode of transport. There will be not a reindeer in sight, and Chris Cringle will be riding not a sled, but an elephant. Yes, all the family can come and see Father Christmas riding the Wat Phnom Matriarch, Sombo the elephant.

Australian Born Bethany Robertson is looking forward to be the next foreign based athelte to represent the Kingdom in International Circuit. The 16 Year Old Swimmer currently Attending Genazzano FCJ College in Victoria Australia has indicated interest to Represent Cambodia rather than her country of Residence.

Born to a Cambodian Mother and Australian Father, Bethany has taken part in well over 40 Championships in Australia.

Xayoh Grillhouse started as the first grillhouse in town. Copying the concepts of american steakhouses, it offers steaks and burgers. Recently added was a superburger. But to be honest: there are better places for steaks. Althought they may try heir best, staff has not much clue about what they serve, the baked tomatoes look disgusting, and the overall presentation is poor.

Phnom Penh Crown sacks 9 players following AFC Hammer

Nine Players of Reigning Metfone C-League champions Phnom Penh Crown FC were last week clamped with lenghty Bans by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) following their role in a fracas during the AFC President’s Cup final on September 25.
Striker Chan Chaya, San Narith and Defender Sun Sovannrithy were handed six-month suspensions from all football competition for assaulting the referee during the ugly scenes in Kaosiung, Taiwan.

A Welcome Retreat: Mondulkiri

Mondulkiri would have done the trick, if only it had been more accessible. Although it’s always felt very remote, this is an area that has fascinated me since my first day in Cambodia and I have wanted to visit ever since.
