I wish to bring 2 cats to Hanoi from Brisbane (Australia)- (my son and daughter in law run a school there) - should I do it on my tourist visa or use there permanent residency status?
I know I will need cats micro chipped as well as a rabies and F3 vaccination.
Is there a hassle getting them back to Australia as I will stay there for a few years.
Thanks for any info
Hi
This is taken from a post in Seoul re pets. It may provide some insight to some of your questions as far as the AUS leg is concerned.
The service I used to fly my dog from Aust to Seoul was Jet Pets (http://www.jetpets.com.au). The Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service (AQIS) is at http://www.daff.gov.au/aqis. The Korean National Veterinary Research Quarantine Service (NVRQS) is at http://www.nvrqs.go.kr/English

some more leads. This is information from the forums using the search import pets. Most is related to countries other than Vietnam, but the websites are international and may have the information you are looking for. Once you do find out, please share the information back here on these forums.

I found a good site about pet travel that allows you to look up the pet immigration rules for various countries:http://www.pettravel.com/passportnew.cfm
And this website gives links to 117 different airlines (all of which seem to have slightly different rules for when health papers should be issued, etc):
