DFDL Mekong (“DFDL”) is seeking lawyers with at least two to three years experience to join our practices in the Mekong region.

• Region-wide we have 80-90 staff, including close to 40 lawyers and advisors (15 expatriates).

The role

Reporting directly to the Country Managing Director, it is intended that you will start as an Associate and handle projects with clients, within the respective Practice Team.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Within the respective Practice Team, direct client engagement as the client contact, including all aspects of relationship management, business development and financial management;
- Draft, review and finalize all outputs, including contracts and advices;
- Delegation and monitoring of all work flows, setting and maintaining staff deadlines and all aspects of team management of the professional staff;
- Quality control, file management and administrative support; and
- Business development, marketing and public relations for the firm in Vietnam and abroad.

The candidate

This is an ideal position if you are a lawyer eager to experience greater client contact, structure different transactions, manage transactions from beginning to end, and make a real difference in the well-being of the client’s project. It is a challenging position which requires a confident and responsible person. The applicant must have strong interpersonal and management skills and the ability to exercise these skills in a multicultural environment.

All candidates should satisfy the following criteria:

- Mentally and socially mature; able to quickly gain the confidence of clients;
- Strong business and management skills;
- Minimum 2-3 years legal experience in corporate, commercial, property, and/or finance sectors;
- Commit to a three year term;
- Fluent in English;
- Degree in law from a good university; and
- Admitted to practice in home jurisdiction.
