Heavy Plant Manager (Cambodia)

We are seeking a Heavy Plant Manager to join our team working across various provinces of Cambodia, to oversee the operation and maintenance of a heavy machinery fleet used for land clearing operations.

This position offers the chance for the right person to use their skills and experience to build and improve on an existing start-up operation. It also offers a unique opportunity to experience working and living in a culture and community which can be personally very rewarding.

Reporting to the General Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

• Assist with daily work scheduling and onsite operations management
• Staff development including implementation of any communication or work process to improve productivity, and the identification and application of training where required
• Assist in the negotiation of best prices for purchasing of plant and equipment
• Review and, where necessary, revise and implement existing operational procedures
• Oversee machinery maintenance
• Communication liaison between the client, internal customers, sub-contractors and suppliers
• Identify and recommend correction of any personnel or operational shortages
• Complete documentation in a timely and accurate manner

To be considered for this position, you must display the following skills and attributes

• A minimum of 5 years’ experience encompassing all aspects of operations management
• Mechanical engineering qualifications are highly desirable but not essential
• Proven knowledge and experience in the operation and maintenance of heavy land clearance equipment
• At least two (2) years experience at a supervisory level including performance development and management
• Strong administration and reporting skills
• Exceptional written and verbal communication
• Excellent logistics, problem solving, and time management skills
• Ability to work autonomously and as a part of a team with a hands-on, practical approach
• Patient and understanding character traits. Able to readily adapt to change
• Willing to live and work in a different culture and adapt as needs require.

An attractive salary package is on offer including:

• The initial ticket purchase cost of airfare from current location, to Phnom Penh, and return to point of origin (or other financially-equivalent destination) is provided by Subloos.
• Cost of in-country working visas and other permits or licenses required for carrying out working duties are covered by Subloos, with the approval of the General Manager prior to purchase.
• Performance bonuses may be awarded monthly if productivity goals are achieved
• Use of 4WD vehicle for travel to work sites and within working locations. Regular servicing and vehicle care to be applied by the employee. All fuels, oils, and repair costs for upkeep and operation whilst on working sites to be provided by Subloos Cambodia.
• Food is provided at each of the worksites and during periods of inter-provincial travel between work sites (when worksite food is not available). Other ordinary meal costs are the employees’ responsibility
• Offsite accommodation is paid in full by Subloos Cambodia when travelling between provincial works. Office accommodation is available as and when the work schedule may dictate. Safe sleeping options are also available at our project campsites, if onsite presence is required to complete required tasks.
