AusCham Vietnam was originally established as two separate business groups in HCMC and Hanoi in 1995. The groups formally combined to create what was then called the Australian Business Group of Vietnam (ABGV) in 1998. The official name change to the Australian Chamber of Commerce, Vietnam (AusCham) took place in 2003. Today AusCham maintains one chapter in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi and further to our national alignment in 2009 now operates as a united body on issues of national focus with our headquarters based in HCMC.

Membership of AusCham is open to the nominees of Australian business entities working in Vietnam, Australian citizens employed by business entities operating in Vietnam, and commercial organisations that have a demonstrable link to Australia. The Chamber represents over 200 business entities with in excess of 500 nominees.
