Viva Mexican cafe opens in Phnom Penh

Mexican fare is not normally my first food of choice, however when one of our members tipped me off that Viva had opened in Phnom Penh, my tastes buds started screaming for Quesadillas.

It was last June that I had originally tasted Viva's great food on a trip to Siem Reap and on hearing that they had opened in Phnom Penh, there was no point in fighting the urge.

Viva in Siem Reap claims, quite openly, on a banner stretched across the front of the restaurant, that they sell "the most frozen margaritas in Siem Reap" Owners Loa and Vandy hope that they can match that goal in Phnom Penh

They have good reason to believe that they will. To test out how quickly they can lay claim to this is by offering frozen margaritas as a special offer to celebrate the opening at USD 1.50 for around one month. Normally by the glass USD 2.50 (bucket) USD5.00

The good news is that the food is pretty cheap with most mains around the USD 5.00 mark.
I tried out the chicken Quesadillas (USD 5). Well worth it. Tender chicken and melted cheese.

My next trip will see me tackling the Steak Chimichanga (I forgot to note down the price)

Drink wise Coronas are USD 3.00 and Angkor Draft beers for USD 0.50

For those that enjoy a dining experience with out smoke filled restaurants Viva is NON smoking - the do have tables outside for those who wish to chuff away.

They are open seven days a week from 11am and close the doors between 11 - 12 depending on how busy they are. Open all water festival...

Viva Siem Reap - opened in 2006 Old market and judging by the reviews on Tripadvisor has disappointed very few people.
Viva became my "go-to" restaurant. What can I say? I got on a margarita-kick in Cambodia!?!?!?! and “Mouthgasmic!”
