Leonard Cohen Gig Postponed

According to organizers, The Mekong Sessions, Leonard Cohen's much hyped Cambodia gig, due to take place in Phnom Penh on Saturday Nov. 27, has been postponed.

Set to be one of the most expensive shows in history - ticket prices for the 5,000-seater Olympic Stadium in Phnom Penh were running from US$285 to US$600 a head - and also claimed to be a "watershed" for the development of Cambodia's capital, the organizers have cited "insurmountable logistical issues" and are offering all ticket holders a refund. They also say that the 'Hall of Fame' singer remains "committed to performing in Cambodia" and that Robert Kory Management and world tour organizers AEG Live "maintain their full confidence in the local promoter."

Says The Mekong Sessions, the two entities "will continue to work with the local promoter to ensure that the concert goes ahead following the end of the 2010 World Tour."

This is the second date on Cohen's world tour to be cancelled. The gig in Hawaii has also been put off in December due to "insurmountable logistical issues". However, two additional dates have been added in California and Vancouver.
