Farewell Dinner for SEA Games bound Contingent

The Cambodian Contingent to the 26th SEA Games were treated to a Sumptuous Gala Dinner hosted by NagaWorld yesterday as a send-off for the Indonesia-bound delegation.

The Occasion witnessed by other NOCC's Corporate sponsors was presided over by the President of the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia and Tourism Minister, Dr. Thong Khon, who handed over a Cambodian national Flag to the General Secretary of the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia, Vath Chamroeun, who is leading the Cambodian squad as the Chef de Mission.

In his opening Remarks, Dr Thong Khon Lauded the support from Naga world for the SEA games as well as other Sponsors Namely, Smart Mobile, Cambrew, Ezecom, Hello, United Pharma, Sketchers and a host of others. He also urged the Atheltes and Officials to give their best in the SEA games noting that a handsome reward awaits all medalists following the Pledge by the Prime Minister, Ministry of Education and the various corporate organizations.

“Nagaworld in partnership with NOCC is proud to sponsor the Cambodian contingent. We believe in supporting the sporting community. I hope that our Go For Gold initiative will inspire Cambodian athletes to perform well,” NagaWorld Executive Director Pern Chen said in his address.

To encourage teams and individuals, NagaWorld is offering cash incentives to all gold medalists. An individual gold will be rewarded with US$3,000 and a team gold with $5,000. NagaWorld will also reward the NOCC with $500 for every gold medal won.

As part of their Go For Gold initiative, Nagaworld will be outfitting the entire Cambodian contingent heading to the SEA Games in Indonesia with clothing items in the colours of the national flag. The specially made kit containing a high quality tracksuit, a pair of round neck T-shirts, three polo shirts, a team bag and a baseball cap will be given to every member of the 230-strong Cambodian squad of participants, delegates and officials.

“Some of the items had to be shipped from abroad. We have already received the consignments and we handed them them over to all the participants,” Marketing Manager of Nagaworld Yee Wee Han told Expat-Advisory yesterday.

“Besides SEA Games, we are also partners with the Tennis Federation and the Rugby Federation. We are title sponsors of the NagaWorld Rugby 7s. We also sponsor NagaCorp football team, winners of the 2009 Meftone C-League and runners-up this year,” added Yee Wee Han.

Furthermore, apparel sponsorship for Sports events such as boxing, football, volleyball and petanque were provided by Thailand Based Company FBT.
