Cambodia will take on Chinese Taipei in a crunchy tie in the final group game on Saturday in the ongoing 4th China-Asean Invitational basketball Tournament taking place in Nanning city of Guangxi Province, China.

Cambodia defeated Macao 72-65, lost to China Guanxi 62-72 before seeing off Vietnam Hanoi 90-72 in earlier games. Chinese Taipei also on their part defeated Vietnam Hanoi 74-48 and lost to Macao 58-71.

Both Cambodia and Chinese Taipei need to win to qualify for the Semi finals. In the other group B match, China Macao also need a win against Group B favorites China Guangxi to win the group ticket to the semifinals.

China Macao has a half chance to progress after shrugging of their opening game loss to Cambodia to beat Vietnam Hanoi 71-58 if they can record an upset against China Guangxi on Saturday.

In Group A, the battle for the top 2 in the group is fierce. With Laos and Myanmar out of the way having lost all their previous three matches, Singapore, Malaysia , Hong kong and China Pingguo have to battle for the available two slots to make it into the semi finals.

Singapore lost 59-71 to Malaysia before going on to beat Myammanr 106-38 while China Pingguo defeated Laos 95-45 and lost to Malaysia 72- 85.

Malaysia is presently top of group A having won all her games but should Hong Kong and Singapore win in the Saturday clash, Malaysia could well be displaced depending on the other results elsewhere.

Saturday fixtures will see China Pinguo take on Singapore while Hong Kong will square up with Malaysia. Winners of these encounters are likely to progress to the semi finals.
