The Manager of Training and Communications at the Arbitration Council Foundation sent me the following request.

My apologies for my misleading interpretation of the information I had collected is combined with my thanks for pointing out this mistake. Whenever it should be necessary to correct something, I am happy to do so.

On a different issue, I still would be happy to receive some more clarity why the Trainee Arbitrator candidates refused to take an examination.

Dear Mr. Norbert Klein,

I am writing to ask you to correct this article. The Arbitration Council and the National Arbitration Center are two different institutions with the former being mandated by the Labor Law 1997 to resolve labor disputes between workers and management and the latter established by the Commercial Arbitration Law adopted in 2006 (http://www.camcl.org/sub/laws/law_on_commercial_arbitration.pdf) to resolve commercial disputes between businesses.
The first arbitration body in Cambodia, the Arbitration Council opened its door in May 2003 and has so far resolved up to 935 cases between labor and management.

I would very much appreciate it if you can correct your article and write in a way so as to allow your readers to better understand the differences between these two arbitration bodies in Cambodia.

Thank you.

Y Samphy
Manager of Training and Communications
Arbitration Council Foundation
